this is the 1st post and the first set of words for songs i will never record. you can say this is anything from embarressing sh*t to amazing genius (with who cares in the middle and boring too). whatever.
just let me roll it and if you dont want it then leave it.
i wrote this whilest staring at the cover of my leonard cohens greatest hits LP. i was in my room in manchester and it was a sunny day. predictably i wished i was in a loft apartment in new york.
CBS
Well I have been to capitol cities
I have been to different Worlds
Keep on looking till I've seen everything
Different places for my different moods
You caught me watching when i should've been sleeping
you heard me knock when you were playing it cool
Too much time spent following nothing
And wasted chasing capitol girls
I should've been born in a Captitol city
I should've been born in a Captitol city
I should've been born in a Captitol ci-ty
CBS and Leonard Cohen
catching the sunshine in the living room
Someones sleeping when they should be listening
to these plans that i made for two
We can stay in a capitol city
theres plenty to see and nothing to do
no more work and no TV
sit back and watch the money working for you
I should've been born in a Captitol city
I should've been born in a Captitol city
I should've been born in a Captitol ci-ty
It's very good Terry. And I mean that. I'm no poet but it's better than 90% of lyrics out there. And the remaing 10% I am too much non-poet to tell the difffernce so it's as good as anything else ever to this non-poet (except In Bloom and lots of other Kurt's).
